The structure of roulette is a wheel which has red and black coloured spaces, on which there are the numbers 1-36. In the United States there are also “0” and “00” numbered green slots. The play begins when the wheel is spun. A ball is then placed onto the wheel into an outer track. Once the wheel slows down the ball settles on one of the coloured-numbered slots.
Whether you win or lose depends on how you bet…
The bet is placed on a board next to the wheel. Simple bets include whether the ball will fall into a red or black slot, one or more numbers, or even or odd numbers. The amount you win is called a payout and is based on the probability of the ball falling into a numbered-coloured or even-odd slot. For example, if you bet that the ball will land on a black slot your winnings are less than if you bet a particular number because there are multiple black slots.
